Dielectric petrolatum tape for sealing and corrosion protection on buried pipes or exposed to air, piping systems or metal construction with working temperatures up to + 50 ° C. It consists of a non-woven polyester reinforced with longitudinal seams (nr. 13 per linear inch) and impregnated with a petrolatum mastic modified by a sticky rubber, and protected on external layer by a polyethylene film. The tape is impermeable to water (also saline), to gases and oxygen vapours. The tape is applicable and malleable on irregular surfaces. The combination of paraffinic hydrocarbons makes it chemically inert and compatible with a wide spectrum of materials used in buildings: all types of metals, plastic polymers such as PE, PP, PES, PVC, ABS, PU, PA, etc.

For a good corrosion protection, the prior cleaning and drying of the surface to be coated is required. Carefully remove rust, dirt, welding residues. Use an appropriate solvent to remove traces of oil, grease and for ultrasonic gel test. Mechanically carry out the cleaning of deposits with an abrasion by means of a metal brush. Apply the RACI-TEX band leaving on the outside the protective plastic film, proceeding with a 50% overlap wrapping spiral on the tube, or if the substrate is flat, or dividing it into small portions (patches) if of irregular shapes. Apply the band with uniform tension when wrapped on the pipe, or with a minimum pressure if the media is flat or multifaceted. Modelling and smoothing with hands (wearing gloves) the overlapping area in order to make it homogeneous. For triple-layer application, proceed with a second application with an overlap of about 10 mm.

Raci India was established in 2009 as a subsidiary of Raci SRL Italy to provide quality engineering solutions for the installation of oil and gas pipelines. Due to the sheer market's proximity to India, we began servicing the Middle East market in 2011.
In 2018, Flowheel FZE, the Middle East arm of RACI Pipeline Division of Raci SRL, Italy, began operations from Ras Al Khaimah Free Zone in the United Arab Emirates.
RACI has a significant presence in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman.
We work in both the water and oil and gas industries. Since 2018, Flowheel has been expanding its RACI business by entering into new partnerships and carving out a niche in the market from its Middle Eastern base.
In 2020, Flowheel and RACI India collaborated with Radlinger Primus Line Gmbh, Germany, to provide trenchless rehabilitation of underground pipelines in critical installations.
