1991
On November 25, 1991, the Government of the Russian Soviet Federal Socialist Republic issued Regulation No. 18 to create LangepasUrayKogalym (LUKOIL) oil industry group.
1993
At the initiative of the Company’s management, the Company establishes the LUKOIL Charity Fund, one of the first corporate charity funds in contemporary Russia.
1995
LUKOIL is the first Russian oil company to develop a program for switching over to common corporate shares.
1997
The Company acquires a 15% interest in the project for the development of Karachaganak gas and gas-condensate field, and a 5% stake in Tengiz project.
1999
LUKOIL acquires controlling interests in Odessa refinery (Ukraine), Stavropolpolymer OJSC (currently Stavrolen LLC), major shareholding in Ukhta refinery, Saratovorgsintez petrochemical plant, and becomes the key shareholder of the Bulgarian Neftokhim petrochemical enterprise in Burgas.
2002
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited floating drilling rig Astra that helps LUKOIL conduct exploration drilling in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.
2005
LUKOIL discovers a major multi-reservoir oil-gas-condensate field at Severnyi license area in the northern part of the Caspian Sea.
2008
The Company’s overall share of electricity market in its regions of presence is about 17%, while that of the heat market is about 60%.
2010
Oil production operations were launched at Yu. Korchagin field in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
2013
LUKOIL acquired a 65% stake in the exploration, development and production project at CI-504 offshore block in the waters of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire in the Gulf of Guinea.
2015
LUKOIL has aligned its 135 MW CCGT unit in Budennovsk, Stavropol Krai, with the Russian National Unified Power Generation System.
2017
In 2017, the active development of LUKOIL's leading projects, launched in autumn 2016, continued. 5 deep wells were drilled at the Vladimir Filanovsky field this year. The extraction approached the target level of 16 thousand tons per day, which is equivalent to 6 million tons per year.
