CPCL, formely known as Madras Refineries Limited, was formed as a JV in 1965 between the Government of India, A,oco Corporation, and National Iranian Oil Company, It is at present a group company of Indian Oil. CPCL has two refineries with a combined refining capacity of 11.5 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA).
